About Me

My name is not common – that much you may agree with. What most people need a bit of help with is the pronunciation. Aicel is pronounced “i-sell” – it is a combination of names from each grandmother, and since it can be a challenge to remember, feel free to call me Ice. I am originally from the Dominican Republic but I grew up moving around from New York, to several parts of Florida and finally to California. I have met many, many people along the way and I firmly believe that my experiences in different environments, changing schools and learning to adjust to all kinds of living situations have made me the sociable and adaptable person I am today.

I am a perfectionist, so plenty of (extra) attention to detail; I strongly believe in maintaining a work-life balance; I value education; and I believe that technology and social media are the key to living in a modern world where we can establish connections and relationships despite geopolitical boundaries.

The Passion for PR

I certainly wasn’t the type of person who knew what they wanted to do in life ever since the first grade. I went through the list: chef, doctor, architect, actress, social worker – you name it. To this day, a variety of interests and hobbies attract me, and communications has been the place where I can channel my thoughts and ideas.

With an innate strength for writing, deep understanding of social media and my creative skills, I found my place in PR. Through college, I became convinced that PR is where I am meant to be professionally. It is the culmination of all that I love – writing, social media, and  the ability to make an impact through the effective use and dissemination of communication.

Looking Ahead

My aspirations are simple: keep going and keep growing. Explore my industry from all angles. Learn everything valuable from those around me. Stay true to my values personally and professionally. And one day, give back to my community and to those looking to start their careers.
